Current mood: melancholy

Momma told me there'd be days like this
As you will tell by the lack of interesting photos, today was rather mundane. It was cold, there was snow on the ground, and we did very little of anything of note. Here is a very exciting picture of us and the Cashette’s having lunch at Café Eliza. I recommend the baklava.

Asella was in a crummy mood today, and we think it’s due to the double whammy of her two lower teeth coming in and a cold that appears to be developing in the nursery. Not a happy camper today. She fought like crazy to stay awake, but that only served to embolden her crankiness. We ordered a perpetually happy and bubbly kid; what gives? We had a brief moment of unrehearsed cheerfulness, so we took a picture. Here it is for your viewing pleasure. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

This afternoon we did nothing. Zip. Nada. I took a picture. It’s the blank space below this line.

It looks like our court date will be on the 20th, which is right on schedule. If that comes to pass, we SHOULD be home around Mother’s Day, maybe a few days after. Please, no one make any solid plans based on that, it’s our guess as of now. We should have further confirmation of those dates on Monday.

We tried a new place for dinner, the Elephant café (no they do not serve elephant, as far as we know). The food was decent, but the service was phenomenally abrasive. Our waitress was far less concerned with us than she was her two friends, and her friends were only concerned with making out with each other in every corner of the place. We made a mental note that when ordering risotto, be sure to specify: No ketchup.

That was our day. Enthralling, no? Hopefully the weekend will bring a little more spunk and excitement to this bloggy thing. We hope your Friday will be more entertaining than ours. Have a great weekend!

Love,
S&D

Umbrella weather

It's raining sideways here in Denver today, as well. My umbrella thankfully didn't turn inside-out on my way into the office. Unfortunately, the entire right side of my right leg was rather soggy by the time I'd walked the six blocks to the office. It should be dry by the time I head back to my car this afternoon, at which point I shall probably repeat the process in reverse (no, I'm not going to walk backwards). I assume you've heard about the RTD strike? And the Rockies' season having begun? None of this is improving the parking situation. Time for a vacation? Sounds GREAT! I however, would like to opt for a warmer place than K-Stan! (I already have my kid-quota met, obviously!) Sigh... not really going to take a vacation right now. Just doing a little bit of Friday wishful thinking. Have a great weekend, guys! -Nina

Darren and Sarah,

I just caught up on the last few entries in your journal. It is so fun to read....thanks for sharing your journey with all of us. Happy Belated Anniversary! What a strange thing to meet another american couple there married on the same day in the same state as you two. Very odd indeed! All is fine here on the homefront. Your home is still standing and all is well. Today the weather here is wet snow but it is not supposed to accumultate. Flowers are starting to bloom and when you all return it will be absolutely beautiful here! Take care and I'll email each week to your email address how the house visit goes! Have a great weekend!
Janet
