Subject: Everybody's working for the weekend
Mood touched

Saturday here, and the great spring storm of 2006 rages on. It’s a wet, snowy, slippedy, sloppity mess out there, but that did not stop us from heading back to Miami, our local day spa. I had a half hour massage, and Sarah got a haircut followed by an hour and fifteen minute facial. Total cost = $40. Not a bad deal. So, feeling nice and relaxed, we trekked back out into the 30 degree weather and headed to lunch, which we ate. We almost didn’t recognize the orphanage with the sheen of white snowy things all over, but we made it inside just the same.

Today’s visit was marked by a whole lot of inactivity. Asella seemed perplexed as to why we wanted her to work for her toys or to get over to us. Thus, she stared at us a lot. A whole lot. Like for 20 minutes at a time. Without blinking. Then her head spun around. After that the caretakers put on some music and we had a father-daughter dance.

And here’s mommy cutting in and wrecking the whole father-daughter dance concept.

Saturday night is party night here in Kostanai, so we’re heading over to the newbies’ apartment, along with Kim, Eugene and Christina, for some take out and movie watching. Did I mention they have a home entertainment system with wireless surround sound? Even better though, they have a washing machine; and who doesn’t love Saturday night guests who show up with bags of laundry?

So, unfortunately for you, the details of this exciting evening will have to wait until tomorrow, because we just may be out until the wee hours of the night and blitzed off our gourds on Ukrainian vodka. (Jennifer, please disregard this last part as it is wholly untrue. Seriously. Everyone else feel free to paint a mental picture of that.)

Hey, it’s another contest. This one is slightly different. Put down your best idea for what it is that Daddy is doing that caused this look to appear on Asella’s face. Keep it PG-13 or below please. Extra credit will be awarded if you can fit her awesome shirt into the entry. The best one will receive a free shooting lesson and 10 shells to fire at the Kostanai shooting range and restaurant. C’mon down and put some buckshot in somethin’!

One more thing. Last night we were watching our favorite German TV channel and some interesting Disney cartoons came on. The best one was about Daisy Duck being a tremendous jerk and completely ruining Mickey & Minnie’s intimate afternoon plans. At one point Daisy literally punched Minnie in the face. Dang those Germans are harsh. What? Isn’t this how you spend your Friday nights?

Well, I have to go. Sarah is hiding her nose in my sleeve because it’s freezing right off her face. I’m going to have to set something on fire in here. Good thing we don’t have smoke alarms!

Have a great weekend!!
