This is not going to be an exciting entry, so I may have to do something bold like list the TV channels we get or something. There’s been 30 mph winds going on all day, so the city is dusty and miserable, and there’s branches, leaves and assorted refuse flying all over the place. Fun. This is not a common thing and hopefully it will be gone tomorrow. But, due to this exciting weather, we’re cooped up in our apartment, forced to do such menial tasks as laundry and cleaning the kitchen.
Asella had her passport photo taken today, and was reasonably cooperative for the photographer. We got the autumn trees background with her resting on a stump, even though I was hoping for the stadium while holding a football. Oh well. Aside from that, same old, same old. We did not feed her today, no explanation given, and she continued to work on standing up. The music coming through the nursery was especially exquisite today, as Asella rocked out to “Jenny from the Block,” and “But then I got high.” Both are excellent choices for growing girls and boys.

Okay then, as promised, let’s discuss our TV viewing. As loyal readers know from one of the first entries, we have numerous channels featuring gyrating women in various stages of undress. In addition, there are about 220 other channels, including 6 music video stations. One of these plays mainly Polish rap, while the others play about 10 different songs on continuous loop. Another one is Gay.TV, which every now and then deviates from playing regular music videos into something slightly different. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
My favorite channel is Real Madrid, which shows soccer games and highlights 24/7. All of the Real Madrid soccer team and their minor league affiliates. Exciting. There’s a Russian sports channel as well that has Russian league pro hockey, volleyball, and soccer. Rounding out the watchable channels are EuroNews and BBC World, both of which feature headline news stories from across the globe. It’s amazing how little international news we get in the U.S., and fun to hear the European reporters take on the few U.S. issues they discuss. We get zero news on Kazakhstan, which is hopefully a good thing, and no news about Denver. EuroNews gives us the weather for just about every country in the world (including showing Denver on the U.S. map), but of course excludes Kaz and most of the other stans.
Rounding out the channel list are roughly 100 Italian channels, and another 100 from the Middle East. It seems that every Arabic speaking nation is represented, and we get sporting events from Abu Dhabi, religious services from Qatar, Jordan, Syria, etc., and sitcoms from the UAE. There’s a smattering of other European stations, Sarah’s favorite being the one that plays Germany’s funniest home videos. I think there’s joke in there somewhere but I cannot seem to locate it.
So there you go. More than you ever wanted to know about our idiot box. Glad you read today’s entry? I know I am. We did have dinner, but there was nothing exciting about it. Toodles. |
