Hello everyone. Today was a nice and uneventful day. It was actually pretty warm, so we did quite a bit of walking. However, we were visited by Vengence’s 1st cousin, Major Inconvenience, in the form of our cold water not working. So, we put our hurricane Wilma experience to good use to flush the toilet, and went out in the world sans showering. No wonder we get so many strange looks.
It was back to one of our favorites, the auto dealership, for lunch. They do a mean chicken gyro and a malicious plate of potato pirogis. Sarah especially likes it, because she gets to eat.
Our little smooshy angelic daughter Asella was in high spirits today, full of energy and spunkitude. Sadly her garlic rag is gone. It seems to have done the trick though as there is very little left of her cold. Since she was so scootchy, she did some exploring of her nursery. Here she is pretending to be in jail. Awwww….

I’m not sure if I’ve posted a picture of Asella in the position seen below. We affectionately refer to this as, “The Asella pose,” due to the fact that she spends roughly 38% of our visits in this attitude. Given her birth-mother is 5’1” we’re thinking a career as a supermodel is out of the question, so we’re not sure what this is all about. Though, I guess anything is possible.

This afternoon… nothing happened.
A new spot for dinner, the aptly named “Wild Canyon.” It’s a western themed restaurant that serves more or less the same food as every other restaurant.

Here’s the gimmick – meals are named things like Colt 9mm, Texas, and Hudson Hawk. Really. Hudson Hawk. And, the waitress wore a cowboy hat. The one unique item on the menu was the “special sauce” which turned out to be a spicy chili pepper salsa. Yippy-Kai-Aye! They also had eggplant and shitake mushrooms – two things we have yet to see here in Kostanai. Yee haw! Git along little camels.
Our court date is “officially” set for April 20th. We’re hoping that means we can head home mother’s day weekend. We have pre-court this Thursday, and should be able to better pinpoint our return date after that. But, all is moving along on schedule, so that is good.
On our way back to the apartment we stopped at the little grocery store attached to our building and kicked off what is likely to become a dangerous habit. $0.25 ice cream bars. Uh-oh. They also have bread and other good stuffs, so we’ve resolved to make use of the wonderful resources within very close proximity on a frequent basis.
That’s all folks. As Crazy Frog says, “biddy-biddy.” (We love the music here.) |
